Lab27 is pleased to announce the seventeenth edition of INCONTRI DI FOTOGRAFIA, taking place on Wednesday, January 27 at 9:00 PM, streamed live on Lab27’s YouTube channel. The event will feature Silvia Mangosio and Diego Brambilla, both exhibiting their works in the show “Ambientale.”
What challenges do emerging artists face along their journey? This is a question Lab27 seeks to explore by providing a platform for dialogue between different experiences and practices. No formulas, no absolute truths—just a space for reflection. Starting from the works selected for the Treviso exhibition, we consider the processes of ideation, development, and representation, recognizing that advice, perspectives, and opportunities can emerge through dialogue, the intersection of different paths and case studies, and engagement that is less self-referential.
Both projects open up possibilities for introspection, redemption, care, and personal growth, while also highlighting a significant connection between bare life and artistic practice.
Diego Brambilla is an Italian artist based in Zurich, Switzerland. He earned his degree in Photography from the London College of Communication in 2015. His work employs a range of analog and digital photographic processes to merge reality and imagination. Driven by a fascination with mystery and ambiguity, Diego aims to challenge perceptions of reality. Sparse and essential, his works are inner landscapes, moods, and atmospheres full of unease and irony.
Silvia Mangosio was born in Italy in 1988. After studying photography and anthropology in Turin, she attended a master class at the Fondazione Fotografia di Modena, where she developed a project entitled “Memoriamatic,” which won second prize at the “Cassa di Risparmio” Award. She has participated in several group exhibitions and artist residencies. In 2013 and 2016, she was a finalist for the Premio Francesco Fabbri for Contemporary Arts. In 2018, she presented her new project “Chronotope” in the group exhibition “Memories” at Phos, Turin.
