At Lab27 in Treviso, on May 30–31, two days of creative and artistic still-life photography workshops with Ali Ghorbani Moghaddam, a fashion and jewelry photographer based in Paris. A chance to explore the expressive possibilities of still-life photography through objects, light, and composition—experimenting with both everyday and precious items while building and enriching your portfolio.

From Flemish still-life painting and 17th-century vanitas to minimalist, surrealist, and contemporary experimentation, still-life has long been a space for visual invention throughout art history. Photographers such as Edward Weston, Man Ray, Josef Sudek, Irving Penn, Wolfgang Tillmans, Laura Letinsky, and Jan Groover transformed everyday objects into poetic, conceptual, and sculptural images, showing how composition itself can become a powerful visual language.
The workshop encourages participants to engage with various approaches and develop their own personal perspective through photography.

The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of experience level. And it won’t stop at the shoot itself: part of the program will focus on post-production, helping participants refine their visual style and technical skills. No previous experience is needed—just curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and the desire to be inspired.

Bio
Ali Ghorbani Moghaddam is a fashion and jewelry photographer based in Paris and the Photography Department Coordinator at Paris College of Art, where he facilitates departmental activities, oversees projects and collaborations, and develops fashion industry and strategic partnerships for the BFA and MA programs. He also teaches Studio and Lighting Techniques classes.
Born in Iran and raised in Cyprus, he studied photography and cinema and attended the Abbas Kiarostami Filmmaking Workshop. He earned a Master of Arts in Fashion Film & Photography and, since 2022, has been living in Paris, where he works as both a photographer and educator. His work has been published in various fashion magazines.
